Liat is a Partner at Marker LLC. Prior to joining Marker, Liat was the Executive Director of the Zell Entrepreneurship Program at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya, where she helped grow the program and the startups that came out of it. Today she remains involved as chairwoman of the Zell Entrepreneurship Program. Liat is also a mentor and faculty member at IDC’s new program for entrepreneurial leadership and global impact, IDC Beyond. Before joining IDC in 2005, she practiced law at Naschitz, Brandes & Co., a leading Israeli law firm, where she focused on corporate law and M&A and represented venture capital firms, investors, technology companies and start-ups. Liat holds a B.A. (Cum Laude) from the University of California at Berkeley, an LL.B. and MBA from Tel Aviv University, and an LL.M. in European law from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands (Cum Laude). Liat became a member of the Israel Bar Association in 1999.
She is on the advisory board of SeedIL, Cockpit Innovation Hub, Ramle Innovation Hub, Taglit Excel Ventures Program and Scola, the Unit 81 alumni entrepreneurship program and WIZE, venture program for Weizman Institute. Liat also curates the venture creation curriculum at MEET (Middle East Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow). Liat is a mentor at Barclay’s Accelerator (powered by Techstars), The Italia Innovation Program, Israel’s Smart Transportation Accelerator, 42Kura, an Rwandan startup incubator for african startups and Siftech, Jerusalem’s first startup accelerator.
Liat volunteers for several year with Olim Beyahad to help academics of Ethiopian descent find gainful employment in their field of study. In November 2009, she attended TEDIndia and then was a co-organizer of TedxTelAviv in April 2010 and TEDxHolyland in October 2010 and TEDxIDC, a student run TEDx event in 2014 and 2015.
